This 4th edition of the curriculum in support of the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding was created specifically to support the implementation of the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative in the United States. Based on the original 18 hour course, the curriculum has been expanded to meet the enhanced 20 hour training expectation of the BFHI as revised by WHO & UNICEF in 2009.
